Improving through playing
The three of us come from typical "Asian" families, where our parents focus on academic performance and very little emotional education. After growing up, we sometimes struggle to express our emotions and keep them internally. But emotions aggregate, and as a result, we may experience mental breakdowns periodically. The shared experiences made us wonder if we could make a game for juveniles to improve their emotional agility at an early stage.

Emotional literacy helps children to express their feelings and to form positive relationships
Emotional literacy is the ability to identify, understand, and respond healthily to emotions in oneself and others. There are three key elements to emotional literacy: self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness.
Self-Awareness
Recognizing emotions by paying attention to the sensory experience
Feeling scared or anxious might cause a dry mouth, sweat or a rapid heartbeat
Describe
Finding the appropriate words that describe emotions
Grateful
Proud
Motivated
Interpret
Exploring why they might be feeling certain way
Feelings are helpful, even the ones that cause us to be uncomfortable
Happy on the train!
Common emotional literacy
Great emotional literacy
Research Findings

Children don't always share emotions because of feelings of shame or holding concerns.

Children could not describe some emotions clearly but could feel the emotion changing inside.
03
Most children don't have infinite screen time and only have access to screens during a specific time of the day.
